We would like to extend to you the opportunity of becoming a DSP Sub-Committee member. This committee was formed to help address the many issues surrounding the day to day supports provided by direct support professionals as well as better wages, overall training and recognition for the entire workforce of DSPs. One of the biggest accomplishments for this committee was working with DMRS and other stakeholders to develop an outstanding DSP recognition program that awards DSPs statewide for a job well done. Since September 2005 we have awarded several DSPs throughout the state and we have many more to recognize in 2008 and years to come. With your help and input we can make sure that this process remains fair and bias free for DSPs across the state of Tennessee and at the same time provide the tools and support needed for our DSPs to be successful.
